Representative Payee Program
The Wayne Township Social Security Representative Payee Program is a free service that helps social security beneficiaries manage their money and meet their basic needs. These include food, shelter, utilities, medical and dental care, and other items for their personal comfort. We can also pay for life insurance, debt repayment, medical bills, house and car insurance, burial trusts, and court expenses. After we cover the basic needs and contribute to savings, we give the individual a weekly allowance for food, personal items, and other expenses. We do not charge any fees to our clients - they receive 100% of their funds. Program requirements - You must receive some type of Social Security benefit - You must live in Wayne Township - The Social Security office must either assign us as your payee or approve your request for us to be your payee. Program Outcome: Financial and Housing Stability By paying your landlords, utility companies, and other vendors on time, we prevent you from facing eviction, homelessness, late fees, utility disconnection or reconnection. With our experienced staff advocating for you, you are less likely to be overcharged or exploited by predatory vendors. Our mission is to provide the best possible services to all those we serve. We are proud to offer this service. If you or someone you know would like to join the Payee Program or learn more about it, please call the Trustee's office and ask for Susan at 973-9392. |
